Sending email campaigns — broadcasts, sequences, cart abandonment and personalized product emails — is the Email sending add-on. It is included on the larger plans and can be added to the others. Its card on the Add-ons page reads:
- “Email campaigns – broadcasts, sequences, cart abandonment and personalized product emails”
- “Send through our mail server or your own SMTP, SendGrid or Mailgun – emails through your own server count as page views on your plan”
- “Included free on Growth, Power and Enterprise”
By plan
| Plan | Email sending |
|---|---|
| Growth, Power, Enterprise | Included. |
| Free, Starter | An add-on. Try it with Start free trial — 7 days, nothing charged — or Activate it on the Add-ons page. |
- Every plan includes a monthly email allowance. Emails beyond it are billed by usage, on your regular monthly bill.
- The Add-ons page shows how much you have sent so far (Used this cycle) and the current price.
- Free and Starter accounts that had sent email campaigns in the 90 days before the add-on launched, on 9 October 2026, were given it at no charge. Their Add-ons page shows it as active.
Which mail server sends your email
- The Personyze mail server needs a paying plan, or the add-on bought (not the trial). Nothing to install: verify your domain and send — see Set up email sending.
- Your own server — SMTP, SendGrid or Mailgun, added under Settings › Integrations › Email delivery (SMTP). A Free account on the trial sends this way.
The sender picker and the campaign’s readiness check say which applies to you — for example “Your emails go out through the Personyze mail server — nothing to set up.”
Emails through your own server count as page views
Marketing emails sent through your own mail server (SMTP, SendGrid or Mailgun) count as page views on your plan: one email is one page view, personalized or not. They count toward the same monthly page-view allowance, and the same extra page-view billing, as your site’s traffic. Emails through the Personyze mail server count on the add-on’s email allowance instead — never on both.
Without the add-on
- New campaign: the email campaign types carry an Add-on badge. Opening one says “Email sending is an add-on, not part of your plan.”, with a button to start the trial or activate it. You can still build the campaign — it just won’t send until the add-on is on.
- QA step: the row that says whether the campaign sends names what stops it: no Email sending add-on.
- Live email campaigns skip their sends, and do not count them as failures. A sequence keeps its people: their next steps go out once the add-on is on, within each step’s usual window. An email set off by an event — an abandoned cart, a form — whose event happened while the add-on was off is not sent later.
What never needs the add-on
Alerts, reports, test sends, and notices to your own team — such as the on-site Email action sent to a fixed staff address — go out on every plan.
