Recommendations — Where to Start

Product and content recommendations end to end: the catalog behind them, the algorithms that choose, the wizards that build them, and every way to deliver them.

A recommendation is three things: a catalog Personyze can read, an algorithm
that chooses from it, and a widget that shows the result. Get the first right and the other two are
choices; get it wrong and nothing downstream can save it.

Start with the catalog

Then choose how it picks

Then decide where it shows

A feed whose ids do not match the ids your tracker sees produces recommendations for products nobody viewed.
Reviewing the data is where that shows up — check it before blaming the
algorithm.
