New campaign holds everything you can build. Open it with New on the
campaign list, or with the + at the top of the left menu. It offers two kinds of thing:
- Campaign types open the campaign editor with every setting: targeting, design, schedule and testing,
all in one editor. See Campaigns. - Ideas are ready-made campaigns for a goal, set up with you step by step. Each one lands on
staging, so nothing reaches a visitor until you publish it. See Playbooks.
Five campaign types can also be set up for you by AI: Product Recommendations, Content
Recommendations, AI Search & Chat, Promotions, Reviews &
Testimonials, AI Product Finder, AI Content Finder, Automatic AI emails and the two Get Code for Emails recommendation cards each have a Quick setup with AI button — see below. AI Personalization is
made by AI from the start.
Three tabs: Campaign types, Toolkits and Ideas
The switch at the start of the row of filters picks what New campaign shows. Each tab’s tooltip says what it holds.
- Campaign types — every kind of campaign, starting blank: you choose each setting yourself. New
campaign opens here. - Toolkits — the campaign types gathered by what they are for: recommendations, surveys, email and
more. It suits you when you know the goal but not the tool. - Ideas — ready-made plans for a goal: the campaign, its design and who sees it, set up with you
step by step. Ideas appear only on this tab.
Your browser remembers whether you last used Campaign types or Toolkits, and opens there next time. It never opens on
Ideas by itself.
Campaign types and Ideas
Your usual comes first, on a light green panel: the campaign types you create most, most-used first,
such as 3 campaigns · newest 2 days ago. Copy an existing campaign… opens a
search of your campaigns, each with Copy. An account with no campaign yet sees Start
here instead: good first campaigns for your kind of site.
The row of filters:
- The tabs: Campaign types, Toolkits, Ideas.
- The channels: Any, On the site, Email, App or
Push. Your browser remembers the one you picked. - The search box: Search or describe what you want. Press / to jump to it. A word or two searches the
cards; a sentence can be asked of AI (below). When your own campaigns match, up to three of them show
under the row, under Your campaigns, each with Copy.
Under it, on Campaign types: Suggested — the campaign types that suit your kind
of site, which is what the tab opens on — or Every campaign type. A search always looks through every
type. On Ideas, a row of goals: Every goal, Suggested, then Sell
more, Get leads, Welcome & help, Follow up,
Personalize, Hear from visitors, Prove it works and Build with
code. On the right of both, Suggestions for your kind of site, with Change to pick another
kind. That kind decides what Suggested holds. Ideas that cannot work on your kind of site are not
offered.
What a card says
- A picture of the type or idea in action, the title, and for a type one line on what it does.
- Its channels: On the site, or On the site → Email for an idea that uses both. Marks:
Add-on, Upgrade or New, and Suggested on those that suit
your kind of site. - At the foot, Idea or Campaign type, or what it still needs (see below), then Start.
- The ⓘ explains it. For an idea, it gives the steps (Set up in 3 steps) and Nothing goes live until
you publish it — with · 10% held back to measure it when it keeps a control group. For a type, it
says Opens with every setting.
Suggested shows all its campaign types at once. Every campaign type and the ideas show
twelve cards at first, and Show 12 more · 30 left shows more. A search with no result says
Nothing matches “…”, with Clear search and Ask AI about
“…”.
The AI Personalization card knows that an account has one AI Personalization campaign. Once yours
exists, the card says You have one – opens and its name, and Start opens that campaign instead of
making a second. See AI Personalization.
Quick setup with AI, or Full setup
Ten cards have two buttons at their foot instead of Start:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Quick setup with AI | Opens the AI setup of that type: Personyze reads your site and sets up the main choices for you to check, change and publish to staging — it never publishes live. Every other setting stays in the full editor. Once you have one, the button says Open your AI setup. |
| Full setup | Opens the campaign editor with every setting — targeting, design, schedule and testing — and you decide each one. Clicking the card itself does the same. See Product recommendations and Content recommendations. |
| Card | What the AI sets up |
|---|---|
| Product Recommendations | Recommendation widgets placed and drawn on your own pages, from your products — AI product recommendations setup. |
| Content Recommendations | The same for your articles — Content recommendations, set up with AI. |
| AI Search & Chat | The pages your chat answers from, how it talks and its bubble, with five test questions — AI Search & Chat, set up with AI. |
| Promotions | Promotions from your own catalog and a promotion bar, kept as drafts until you approve them — Promotions, set up with AI. |
| Reviews & Testimonials | Your strongest real reviews, beside your buy button or form — Reviews & Testimonials, set up with AI. |
| AI Product Finder and AI Content Finder | A finder’s words and examples from your products in stock or your articles, drawn on your own home page and tried — AI Finders, set up with AI. |
| Automatic AI emails | The list whose new people get an email, what the AI is told and the letter, with a sample written for one person; the setup itself sends nothing but a test to your own address — Automatic AI emails. |
| Get Code for Emails: Product Recommendations and Get Code for Emails: Content Recommendations | The emails the picks go in, your email service, and the picks drawn in your site’s look, with one code per email — Email recommendations, set up with AI. |
From Your usual, Product Recommendations asks the same question in a dialog:
Product recommendations, set up with AI (Recommended), with Quick setup with AI or
Open your AI setup, or Full setup, to choose a design and where it goes yourself.
A card that shows Upgrade has no AI button. The same types under another heading
open as themselves: Recommendations, one widget against another under A/B testing opens ready to test, and the
app and JSON recommendation types build what they always did.
Ask AI
Type what you want in the search box — “win back visitors who leave products in their cart” — and
press Ask AI, or Enter on a sentence of three words or more. With the box empty and in focus, it
offers three to try (Recover abandoned carts, Collect leads, Get
reviews) and Ideas from your own site (Inspire me).
The answer, AI picks for “…”, appears above the cards: one to three campaigns from
the open tab that your account offers, each with the reason it fits and Start this campaign. Tick
Also draft the audience from my words, and the campaign’s Target step opens with your words in the AI
box, ready for you to press Generate rules. Nothing is created until you press Start. Asking uses the
account’s AI allowance.
Toolkits
Toolkits shows one card per topic: its icon, its title, how many ways to build it (3 ways to build it), a line
on what it is for, and a badge. See options opens it. A topic with one way and nothing to choose has
Start instead. Group by sorts the cards by Topic, Goal
or Channel, with Suggestions for your kind of site beside it, and the topics that suit it say
Suggested.
| Topic | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Personalize your pages | Change any part of your site for each visitor: by where they came from, what they did, where they are and who they work for. Among them, AI Personalization: your own hero, message bar and pricing table, in words written for each visitor’s segment. |
| A/B testing | Two or three versions on the visitors you choose: on your site, a landing page, recommendations, an email or a push notification. |
| Product recommendations | Bought together, trending, based on what they browsed or searched, with fallbacks — on your site (with Quick setup with AI), in your app, by JSON, and in emails. |
| Offers & promotions | The AI promotion manager for discounts, coupons, free shipping and countdowns (with Quick setup with AI), and an offer popup or banner. |
| Content recommendations | The next article, guide or video each reader is most likely to open — on your site (with Quick setup with AI), in your app, by JSON, in emails and in a push notification. |
| AI chat & finders | An AI assistant that answers from your site, and the AI Product Finder and AI Content Finder (each with Quick setup with AI). |
| Surveys & feedback | Questions on exit, after a purchase or in an email, a survey on a page of its own, and NPS. |
| Reviews & social proof | Reviews, testimonials and logos from customers like each visitor (with Quick setup with AI), and a review form on a page of its own. |
| Leads & sign-ups | A sign-up form or popup, a landing page with a form, an AI-written email to each new lead, and a follow-up email. |
| Landing pages | Pages at your own address for ads, emails and QR codes, personalized and A/B tested as a whole. |
| Meetings & booking | The right meeting for each visitor, your calendar on a page of its own, a booking email, and a follow-up after the meeting. |
| Email & push | Emails and push notifications triggered by what each person did, email sequences, AI-written emails, and asking visitors to allow push. |
An open topic is headed Build it yourself and holds the campaign types that make it, on your site first
and email last. A chip beside the heading says when a setting could improve it (1 setting could improve this).
Click it to see which. Toolkits holds campaign types only; the ready-made ideas are on the Ideas tab.
A type can be in several topics. Get Code for Emails: Product Recommendations, for example, is under
Product recommendations and under Email & push.
A/B testing holds five ways to test: a change on your site, a landing page in two or three versions,
recommendations (one widget against another), an email in two or three versions, and a push notification in two or three
versions. Each opens ready to test. A recommendation, an email or a push starts with two test groups, 50/50. A landing
page opens its test on The page itself once its first page is there. See A/B testing.
A page of its own is a hosted landing page started by kind: Surveys & feedback → A survey on a page of its own, Reviews & social proof → A review form on a page of its own, Meetings & booking → Your calendar on a page of its own, Landing pages → A hosted landing page (see Landing page kinds and parts). Survey email (NPS, feedback) and Booking email open a Surveys or Meetings campaign on its Sharing step (see A survey’s own page and survey emails and A booking page of its own).
When your tracking code is not on your site yet, Toolkits says so above the cards — Your tracking code is not
on your site yet. — with Install the tracking code.
Badges: ready, needs something, add-on, upgrade
| It says | What it means | What Start does |
|---|---|---|
| Ready to go (Toolkits) | Everything it needs is set, the tracking code on your site included. | Opens the editor, or the idea’s steps. |
| Needs your tracking code, Needs a product catalog, Needs your articles, Needs a user list, Needs push subscribers first | Something it needs is missing. You can build and save it now; it runs once that is done. Where there is a fix, its button is beside it: Upload, Set up and the like. | Opens the editor as usual. |
| Add-on, or in Toolkits Add-on · 7 days free or the monthly price | A module that is not part of your plan. You can build it and save it to staging free; going live needs the add-on. Hover the badge or the ⓘ for the terms: the free days charge nothing, and the add-on stops when they end. It never becomes a subscription by itself. After that it costs a monthly price on top of your plan, and you can cancel any time. Some plans include it. The card’s foot offers Start 7 days free, or Activate with its monthly price. | Opens the editor; Publish to live asks for the add-on. |
| Upgrade | Not included in your plan. | Opens the plans page. |
The AI Product Finder and the AI Content Finder have cards of their own, beside AI Search
& Chat. They need the AI Search & Chat add-on, and the AI Product Finder needs a product catalog. See AI Product Finder and AI Content Finder.
The foot of the screen
- Availability is based on the current setup of your site, with Not using some of these?
Manage features to switch campaign types on or off for the account. When some are off, 2 more campaign
types are switched off. Show them. - Cancel closes New campaign, as does Back to dashboard at the top.
Your first campaign
An account with no campaign yet lands in New campaign. Close it, and the campaign list shows Here is what is
worth doing next instead of an empty list: questions to ask, what to set up, and campaign ideas for your site. In
it, Start a campaign offers Pick a campaign type (New campaign on Campaign
types) and Browse all ideas (on Ideas). Once the first campaign is saved, the list
is the list again.
