Promotions, set up with AI writes promotions from your own catalog and puts them on your site in a promotion bar. Personyze finds your products on sale, your new arrivals, what sells less than last week and what you have plenty of, writes a headline, a line and a button for each, and adds a bar along the top or the bottom of every page. You keep, drop or reword each, and publish to staging. Start it in New campaign: on the Promotions card, press Set it up with AI. It opens a new campaign, Promotions, set up with AI, and nothing is written until you save it. Once you have one, the button says Open your AI setup.
How it works
The campaign’s steps are What to promote, Where to show them and Review and publish, then Content, Target, QA, Automation and Performance. The campaign is known by its description, so its description stays as it is.
On the first open, What to promote asks how to go on:
| Card | What happens |
|---|---|
| Set up by AI (Recommended) — Set it up for me | Personyze reads your catalog, writes a promotion for each of your best offers and puts a promotion bar on your pages — a few minutes. It opens on Review and publish: you check one summary, then publish to staging. |
| Step by step — Let me check each step | What to promote, where to show it and the summary, one step at a time — and you change any word before you publish. |
A catalog with no products yet says Your catalog has no products yet, with Connect a store: connect your store or a product feed first, then come back.
What to promote
Find what to promote proposes up to five promotions at a time; once some are on screen it says Find more, which adds to them instead of replacing them. Each is about one product, and says why it was picked:
| Reason | When |
|---|---|
| On sale in your catalog | Your catalog sells it below its price, by 5% or more. The words may name that discount, and only that one. |
| Selling less | Its orders this week are well down on last week’s. |
| Plenty in stock | You have many units of it. |
| New in your catalog | Your catalog marks it new, or it arrived in the last 30 days. |
A product needs a photo, a page and a title, and a product another promotion already shows is left out. A product sold in several colours or sizes gets one promotion, which says Promotes 2 more colours or sizes of it too; a number in a name is a model, not a size, so two models are two products.
On each card, Keep ticks it, and Headline, Line under it and Button are the words, yours to change. Below them: where it shows first (its product’s categories, or every page), No end date – it runs until you stop it. No code., and Saved as a draft once saved.
The words are checked against your catalog before you see them. A promotion whose words promise what your catalog does not back — another percentage, “sale” at full price, an amount of money, “new” for a product that is not, a code, or “limited time” and “hurry” — is left out, and the step says how many were. Your own edits are checked the same way when you save. For a coupon or a dated offer, add it in the Promotions list yourself.
Writing promotions uses your account’s AI credit: the step says what a press costs and how much you have left before you press it. When this month’s allowance is used up and the account allows no extra use, the buttons are off and the step says when it renews. Reading your catalog and saving use no credit.
Where to show them
A promotion bar on every page of your site. On a category page it shows that category’s promotion; elsewhere, your best one. Add the promotion bar adds it to the campaign, and Where the bar goes is Along the top or Along the bottom. The preview shows your first kept promotion on a Computer and a Phone, in your shop’s own colour. The bar needs no spot on your pages; its colours and size are changed in Content, where it is a Text Promotions design (see Promotions campaign). A bar you placed elsewhere in Content stays where you put it.
Review and publish
What the setup made, before your testing devices see it on your site: the promotions kept, by headline, and where the bar goes.
- Publish to staging saves the campaign and its promotions, as drafts. It needs at least one kept promotion and the bar.
- Check it on your site opens QA, once the campaign is on staging (see QA campaigns).
- Open Your promotions opens the Promotions list, where you approve them.
Drafts, approval and live
Saving the campaign — Save as draft, Publish to staging or Publish to live — saves the promotions you kept as drafts, with their facts read from your catalog at that moment; one you dropped is deleted, unless it has been approved. Until then, Discard unsaved changes puts back what was saved. A draft from this setup is shown on staging only: in this campaign’s bar while it is on staging, and in any promotions widget on staging. Live visitors, emails and push notifications never get a draft.
To show a promotion to everyone, press Approve on its row in the Promotions list, then publish this campaign to live for its bar. Your promotions belong to the whole account: an approved one shows at once in every live promotions widget. An approved promotion is locked in the setup — change it in the list.
Limits
- At most five promotions are set up at a time; a product has one.
- A promotion shows only while its product is in your catalog with a photo and a page, and a sale promotion only while the product is on sale.
- A plan without Promotions shows Upgrade on the card and no AI button. Without the Promotions add-on, the setup is built and seen on staging free; going live, and approving in the Promotions list, need it.
