Brevo is a contact upsert rather than an event. When a visitor matches a Personyze campaign, their Brevo contact is created or updated — matched on email address, so a contact that already exists is updated rather than duplicated.
This is an Automation-only destination. It calls the API from Personyze’s own servers with a key, so there is no on-page equivalent and it does not need that tool’s script on your page. Tick it on a Send Event to Analytics action.
What you need
| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| API key (v3) | Brevo → the account menu → SMTP & API → API Keys |
| List ID (optional) | The list you want them added to |
Give a list ID as well and the contact is also added to that list — which is what most Brevo automations trigger on.
Brevo attributes are created in Brevo, not by us. Personyze maps first and last name onto
FNAME and LNAME, which every Brevo account has. An attribute that does not already exist on their side is rejected, so anything beyond those two has to be set up in Brevo first.Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Almost always |
|---|---|
| “the recipient has no email” | The matched visitor has no email on their Personyze profile. Brevo identifies contacts by email, so there is nothing to send. |
| Brevo says the contact already exists | It should not — Personyze always upserts. If you see this, tell support. |
