Add-ons — Free Trials, Activating, Removing and the Spend Limit

How to try, activate and remove an add-on on the Add-ons page, what each card and badge means, and how the monthly extra-spend limits stop usage beyond the allowance.

An add-on is one capability you switch on for this account without changing your plan — the AI Chat Agent, hosted landing pages, more AI, and others. The plan stays what it is; the add-on is billed beside it. Everything about add-ons happens on one page: open the account menu at the top right of the panel and choose Account › Add-ons. The menu row shows how many add-ons you have, and {n} in trial while any trial runs.

A free trial never becomes a subscription. Nothing is charged during a trial, and when it ends the add-on simply stops until you activate it. You never have to remember to cancel.

The add-ons

Which ones you see depends on your plan. Each has its own page on this wiki:

Add-on What it adds
AI Chat Agent An AI chat assistant on your site, with a monthly conversation allowance. See AI Chat Agent.
Hosted Landing Pages Pages hosted at their own address, with your own domains, and a monthly allowance of hosted page views. See Landing Pages.
Extra AI More AI generation and analysis every month — copy, images, audiences and campaign building — added on top of what your plan includes.
Audience Discovery Finds the audiences that convert, from your own data. See Audience Discovery.
Promotions Image banners, text promotions and coupons from one list, per visitor. See Promotions.
Reviews & Surveys Collect and show reviews, and run surveys and feedback. See The Reviews page and Surveys.
Email sending Email campaigns sent through Personyze. See The Email sending add-on.

Prices are not given here: every card shows the current monthly price, the allowance it includes and the rate beyond it, and that card is the authority.

The page

A line across the top adds up the month: Your plan + Add-ons + Extra usage so far = This cycle. Beside it, the account’s spend limit — Extra usage stops at … a cycle, or No spend limit is set — extra usage is billed as it happens — with Change (see Spend limits).

Below are two groups of cards: What you have, and Available on your plan — nothing is charged until you activate. A card’s badge says where the add-on stands:

Badge Meaning
Trial · … days left The free trial is running.
Active Activated and paid monthly.
Included in your plan Your plan includes it at no extra charge. There is nothing to activate or remove.
Over the allowance Active, and this cycle’s usage has gone past what it includes.
Ends and a date Removed; it keeps working until that date.
Trial ended / Canceled No longer working.

A card that some plans include free says so in its list: Included free on … with the plans’ names, or Included free on every plan.

Starting a free trial

Most add-ons offer one. Click Start free trial; the card reads “… days free, nothing charged. Activate at the end to keep it.” A trial can be limited by days, by usage (conversations, page views…), or both, and the card counts down whichever applies. While it runs:

  • The bar shows Used during the trial.
  • The note says: “Nothing is charged during the trial. When it ends, … stops working until you activate it.”
  • Activate keeps it from today; End trial stops it now.
One free trial per add-on, ever. Ending a trial early stops the add-on right away, and that trial cannot be restarted. After a trial has ended, the card reads “The free trial has ended. Activating brings it back right away.”

Activating

The Activate button shows the monthly price. It opens Activate …?, which spells out the charge before anything happens:

  • The first month is charged from today, from your account balance, and again every month until you remove it.
  • The dialog shows Your balance, the add-on’s first month, and Balance after.
  • If the balance does not cover it and a card is saved, the difference is first charged to your card, then the add-on is activated — the button reads Charge … and activate. An invoice is emailed within 24 hours.
  • If the balance does not cover it and no card is saved, nothing is charged: Go to Billing to add funds or a card, then come back.

A team member who is not the account holder can activate too. The dialog then says: “This is billed to the account holder, from the account balance — not to you.” Balance and cards are on Billing.

Removing

An active add-on has Remove. “Removing it stops at the end of this cycle.” It keeps working until the date you have already paid for, is not charged again, and nothing already paid is refunded. The badge then reads Ends with that date.

Until that date the card reads “Canceled — it works until … Contact support to reactivate it.” To keep an add-on you removed by mistake, contact support before the date.

Spend limits

Every metered add-on includes an allowance each month. Going past it is charged per use, at the rate on the card — and never past a spend limit you set. There are two:

Limit Where What it stops
Account-wide spend limit Change, in the line at the top of the page All extra usage that can be paused: AI tasks and metered add-ons such as chat.
Monthly extra-spend limit On the card of each active, paid add-on that has an allowance That add-on’s extra usage only.
  • Type an amount and click Save. Leave the box empty for No limit.
  • “Extra usage beyond your allowance stops once this much has been spent in a billing cycle.” It resumes when the billing cycle renews.
  • When both are set, the lower one stops the add-on first.
  • Some accounts have a ceiling on how high the limit can go; the box says so: “On this account the limit can be set up to …”

The AI Chat Agent also has its own Most conversations per billing cycle, set with the chat’s behaviour — a count of conversations rather than an amount.

Usage this cycle

A metered add-on’s card has a bar: Used this cycle, “… of …” its allowance, and how far past the allowance it has gone. Past it, the card turns red: “… past your allowance — about … so far this cycle. Billed with your next invoice.”, followed by how much room your spend limit leaves.

Hosted landing page views count every page served. The meter counts each page before the visitor’s browser runs anything, so it includes people whose browser blocked the tracking script, and is normally higher than the Views figure on the Landing pages report.

When an allowance is nearly used up or used up, everyone on the account gets a message in the panel’s bell, and the account owner an email — see Billing.
