Company follow-up reaches the companies that read your site without leaving a name. When a visitor from a company you can sell to matches your campaign, Personyze finds the right person there by job title, makes a page for that company and that person’s role, alerts your rep, and emails the person a link to their page. It is an add-on, started by one action: Follow up identified company.

Demo mode comes first. A new action has Demo mode: alert your rep only, send no email switched on: every company is looked up and its page made, your rep gets every alert, and nobody is emailed. Read a few days of alerts, then switch it off to start sending.

How it works

  1. A company is identified. Your company-identification integration names the company behind an anonymous visit, and a campaign with the action matches it. Several visitors from one company count as one.
  2. The right person is found by the job titles you set, with your own Apollo key — or Hunter, when Apollo has nobody.
  3. A page is made for them: three ideas of how what you sell helps that company, from their own site, under a headline and intro for the person’s role.
  4. Your rep is alerted on Slack and by email, with a note to send on LinkedIn.
  5. The person is emailed from your rep, with the link to their page.

What you need

  • The Company follow-up add-on — activate it, or start its free trial, on the Add-ons page. It needs Email sending too.
  • A company-identification integration that records the company’s web address, such as Albacross, Snitcher, Demandbase, ZoomInfo or Clearbit.
  • An Apollo key, a Hunter key, or both, connected in Integrations.
  • A hosted page for the link — see The page made for them.
  • Slack connected in Integrations, for alerts on Slack as well as by email.

The Follow up identified company action

In a Targeting and Personalization campaign’s Content step, click Add action and pick Follow up an identified company, under Forms, remarketing emails. The campaign’s targeting chooses the companies — an industry, a size, the pages that show interest. Your visitor sees nothing: the action only notes the company.

Setting What it does
Sender Your rep: the email goes from this address, and the alert comes to it.
Demo mode: alert your rep only, send no email On at first.
What you sell, in one line (the page is written from it) Each page’s ideas are how this helps that company.
The page they open (its address; the company is added to it) Your hosted page, starting with https://.
Who to write to – job titles, with commas (e.g. Head of Marketing, VP Ecommerce) Up to 10, the one you prefer first. Empty: marketing, ecommerce, growth and digital.
A page for each role at the company (else one per company) On at first: a head of marketing and a CTO each get their own page.
How deep the page made for them reads their site Quick – their home page, a short plan or Thorough – more of their site, more drawings.
Days before the same company is emailed again 30 (1 to 365). An alert counts too.
At most this many companies emailed a day 20. Emailed and alerted companies both count; the rest wait for the next day.
Your own web addresses (never followed up) Your domains, with commas.
Countries to alert your rep about, never email (e.g. DE, FR) Two-letter codes. Every other country is emailed.

Companies that are left out

An address that names no company you can sell to is never looked up. It shows as Excluded, with why: webmail (a person’s Gmail, Outlook, iCloud…), internet provider (providers, hosts, clouds, VPNs and coworking spaces, by their address or by what the identification calls them), university, government, or your own. A company you Exclude by hand stays out until you Queue again.

How the person is found

  • Apollo first, at the ranks that decide — owners, founders, C-level, partners, VPs, heads, directors; then Hunter, when Apollo has nobody or cannot answer, or alone without an Apollo key.
  • Emailed only when safe: an address the provider verified, at the company’s own domain. A person with none, an unverified one, or one at another domain goes to your rep instead; nobody found, your rep gets the company alone.
  • What a provider answers about a company is kept for 30 days, so repeat visits cost nothing.

The title gives the role: marketing, ecommerce, sales, product, tech, executive, operations or other. Only the person’s name, title, LinkedIn and email with its status are kept.

The page made for them

The email’s link opens your hosted landing page with the company and the person’s role, never the person, for 90 days. The page prints what was written for them with these variables:

Variable What it prints
${req_param_cf_company}, ${req_param_cf_industry}, ${req_param_cf_size}, ${req_param_cf_country}, ${req_param_cf_domain} The company, as the identification knows it.
${req_param_cf_role} The role it was written for.
${req_param_cf_w_headline}, ${req_param_cf_w_intro} A headline naming the company, and two sentences for that role.
${req_param_cf_w_idea1_title}, ${req_param_cf_w_idea1_why}, and so on to idea3 Three ideas from their own site, each with why.

Opened without the link, the page shows none of these, so give it words that stand on their own. Nothing written says the company visited you. Quick reads their home page; Thorough reads more of their site, the way Inspire me does. A company’s page is not written again within 30 days. Pages use your AI credit; out of it, your rep is told without a page, and nobody is emailed.

Your rep’s alert

Your rep gets one message per company, on Slack and at the Sender’s address: the company and the pages it read, the person and their role, the link to their page, whether they were emailed and if not why, and a note of 300 characters or fewer to send on LinkedIn. Nothing is sent on LinkedIn for you.

The email

With demo mode off, the person gets one email from the Sender with the link to their page, on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9 and 11 in the morning, by the company’s own clock. In demo mode, and for countries alerted only, your rep is told at once.

Identified companies

Analytics → Off-site campaigns → Identified companies lists each company the action noted: its visits and pages, the person and role, the status, and whether its page is Ready. Tabs: All, Waiting, Rep alerted, Emailed, Excluded, Failed. Filters: Search a company, industry, country, Page ready or No page yet.

Button What it does
Make pages Makes the pages the companies you tick still need, in the background. It first says how many AI actions that takes of what you have left; pick Quick – their home page or Thorough – more of their site, and A page for each person’s role, then confirm.
Export A CSV of the ticked companies, or all shown: the person, title, role, email and its status, LinkedIn, the page link and whether it is ready — to send from another tool.
Exclude Takes a company out by hand.
Queue again On the Excluded tab: back in the queue, at once.

Statuses and reasons

Status Reasons What it means
Waiting, Working on it the day’s maximum, contact provider busy Waiting for its sending time, the next day, or an hour.
Rep alerted demo mode, country alerted only, address not verified, address at another domain, no email address, nobody found, page not made Your rep has it; nobody was emailed.
Emailed Emailed, and your rep alerted.
Excluded webmail, internet provider, university, government, your own, by hand Never looked up.
Skipped contacted recently Followed up within its days.
Failed no Apollo or Hunter key, Apollo key refused, Apollo out of credits, Hunter key refused, Hunter out of searches The key needs you: Add your Apollo key, Check your Apollo key or Check your Hunter key beside it opens its card.

Limits

  • Your own credits: each person Apollo reveals uses an Apollo credit; each company Hunter looks up, a Hunter search.
  • Once per company: looked up once in 30 days, emailed at most once in its days.
  • A key refused or out of credits is switched off until you connect it again in Integrations. Its Failed companies stay so: to retry one, Exclude it, then Queue again.
